Would anyone ever want to go to a polar region?

I can't imagine here being much to do, but it would be an experience thats for sure!

Did you not see the Top Gear guys? They had some fun in the North Pole - best quote was when Clarkson said to James May "Do you know we are now the most Northern people in the world. Apart from Michael Parkinson, obviously".

Apologies to those outside of the UK as all of that will make very little sense! However, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlmCzaj759Q&mode=related&search=

Not sure if it would be top of my holiday destinations, but I guess people may want to see it whilst it is still there...

hmmm, yes, I saw that before...the idea of erm, 'important' parts of your body freezing and dropping off isn't very appealing. But then if I had a car with £10, 000 worth of hand made wheels, I'd probably want to go there!

But this would be cool to do something like the dog sledding...

No. I think watching Michael Palin wander the ice covered regions of the planet is as close as I'll ever get to anywhere remotely close to a Polar region.

Don't get me wrong, I do believe it would be a worth while experience but you would just have to be very well prepared for it, I think you would be very shocked at how much colder it is than you thought!

I guess, ah well, I'm used to the cold - but like you said, probably a different type of cold in that kinda region!

The polar skiing on that website looks interesting.

But $3000? Nah.
