I use airport lounges regularly and they do vary in quality and facilities - I'd be interested to hear about your best and worst experiences. For me the best I've been to is in Zurich, which is over 2 floors and makes the bold statement of having the 'longest straight bar' in the world. In comparison the lounge at Stansted was woeful, although still provided a respite from the crowds I suppose.

The only airport lounge I've been in was in New York's JFK airport and it was great, the endless free alcoholic drinks we got would have cost more than the small fee we paid to get it. I didn't realise anyone could use these lounges before but would definitely do it again - you can never find a seat in the main terminal, let alone get any peace or quiet.

I'm going to seriously consider getting one of these lounge passes, not the full year ones but just something for when I desperately need a kip and theres never any seats to lie down on anywhere. Or if there are, they have arm rests strategically positioned so you can't lie down...evil, evil airports...

Haha so true, TravelAddict! But I guess there wouldn't be seats if everyone was lying down...I think they have bed areas in some airports, but I'd hate to think what went on in there!
