Hey heyyy!
Long time no post, I thought since its coming up to summer planning i'd get back on here and ask if any one is going to Benicassim in Spain for the music festival this year?

Its. Going. to. Rock.
Or is anyone going to any other festival this year? Leeds fest has an awesome line up!

Always fancied the idea of Benicassim - had mates go for the last few years and they are always full of praise for it. One word of advice, consider getting a hotel with air conditioning - I know it goes completely against normal festival rules but I hear sleeping in a tent during blazing sunshine is not a great experience. Made worse by the inevitable hang over! I can confirm the same level of discomfort from Le Mans a couple of years ago with the same mix of good weather and excessive alcohol.
Also, not sure about Mika as a headliner!!

I'm still not entirely sure what the attraction is, excessive amounts of cheap beer with petulant adults running around at unthinkable hours.
And I think I've heard of this Mika, attempting to make himself a Freddie Mercury even though he wasn't too much to be desired either.

I'm not too keen on Mika either, but Benicassim is different and announce the bands in batches with the best closer to the end. They have 100 acts this year and as of today (new batch announced) have 55 announced so 45 more to come, supposedly the bigger names too!
I'm happy Sigur Ros and Death Cab for Cutie are there...but wont be like last year where Muse and Arctic Monkeys were playing, sigh!
Check out the new announcements, not many that I've heard of, I'll have to get downloading...New bands

Oooh, yeh I don't know too many on there...but I just searched for some of them on YouTube and a few good songs came up, like:
Great DJ by the Ting Tings
Over and Over by Hot Chip.
I think the Leeds and V-fest lineup look better...but like you said, if they tend to bring the big names out later, like Muse and Arctic Monkeys were announced last, last year...who knows!

Well I'm going to V festival this year to see the Kings of Leon which should be awesome but I do like the sound of a festival in Spain - there's nothing better than enjoying live music in the sun. Last year at V it started raining during the killers! So how are you getting to Benicassim?

Yeh I saw a friends photos of V Fest last year, along with Glasto, probably the wettest most depressing year for festivals!
I'm not entirely sure how we're getting there yet, flying from London to Madrid or Barcelona, then getting a bus or train from there I should imagine. I know lots of people who want to do a road trip but I don't think I have the time to spend on the road for days, or the patience in that kind of heat! Muse are at V Festival this year...sigh, wish I was there just for that!

Hi guys, first post! Signed up a while ago but never had much to say, now summer is approaching! Benicassim looks good, I'm holding my ground before I make a decision for a summer break, Madrid's festival looks pretty good 'summercase' and so does 'Rockwerchter' in Belgium...infact that seems to be the winner at the moment: Rockwerchter
It all depends on how I want to get places this year. Last year we did a road trip, but would be nice not having to drive this year - the eurostar would probably win it for me
